Description:

This work questions femininity, domesticity, and the perceived roles of women. Hoop Skirt features a wearable embroidery hoop, my mother’s wedding shoes, and a bouquet of dried roses. As the performance goes on, I crush the roses over the hoop skirt, slowly obscuring the embroidery work on the skirt.
