Description: 

The work features myself slowly smiling as hard as I can. My mouth twists in unnatural shapes and my eyes remain between pained and blank. When I finally let go of the exaggerated gesture, I'm able to release my emotions and cry, slow tears rolling down my cheeks. During this work I am thinking about the performing of emotions for others and one's self.
